The Mouvement Patriotique du Salut (Patriotic Movement of Salvation, abbreviated MPS) is the ruling political
party in Chad, holding nearly all seats in the Senate and two thirds of the
National Assembly as of 2025. The party was founded on 11 March 1990, however it
is unclear when it started using a flag and its logo. Its roots date back to
when leaders of the party overthrew the government under Habre.
From what
I can see online, the flag has two primary alternative variants. One depicts the
logo in a circular seal format over a blue field. The second simply depicts the
yellow disc emblem part of the logo with text reading the party name above and
its initials below (M. P. S) over a blue field. The party logo, although it can
differ, is primarily on handmade flags as this: A blue circle outlined in white,
having in its center a yellow disc with the party initials arched above the
disc. Underneath, the name entirely in capital letters is read. The yellow disc
actually has a device that I can't identify; it is an AK-47 signifying the fight
crossed with another item (?) and a torch of enlightenment above.
The institutional flag has the party logo which
is a seal on a blue field; the same is as described above but arched above reads
Mouvement Patriotique du Salut instead and the motto Mourir pour le Salut below
(Die for the Salvation).
